ELIGIBILITY FOR COJGA

Who can play?

6 TO 8 YEARS OF AGE

  1.  Players should be between six and eight years old as of June 1st.

  2.  Each player should have his or her own clubs.

  3.  Each player should have a basic knowledge of how to hit a golf ball.

  4.  Each player should be accompanied by a parent or guardian

  5.  Each player should arrive one half hour before the designated start time.

  6.  There is no need to qualify for this program.

9 TO 17 YEARS OF AGE

  1.  Players should be between 9 and 17 years old as of June 1st.  Exceptions can be made for highly skilled players younger than 9 or graduating seniors.

  2.  Each player should have his or her own clubs.

  3.  Each player should feel comfortable playing a round of golf and be reasonably familiar with the rules of golf.

  4.  We've decided to eliminate qualification events for this year, and instead allow players/parents to determine best division for their players with the understanding that we have the flexibility to move players up or down based on how the season is progressing. 

  5. As a rule of thumb, competitive level divisions often shoot in the mid 90s or better for 18 holes.
